Studio Angan
Independent Concept
An editorial portfolio experience built around space, material and restraint — allowing the work to carry more visual weight than the interface.
Project context
What this concept needed to establish.
Studio Angan is a concept identity and portfolio for an architecture practice rooted in climate, material, and the social life of Indian spaces.
Design challenge
The problem shaping the experience.
The interface needed to feel authored and architectural while remaining a legible, useful project index rather than a digital moodboard.
Design direction
The idea carried through the build.
A measured grid, oversized serif typography, and image-led pacing make the website feel like an editorial monograph with working navigation.
LOOK INSIDE THE DESIGN
See what each part of a website does.
Explore the Studio Angan concept, one decision at a time. Choose a detail to inspect the actual interface.
The whole page. A short navigation, a clear introduction, project imagery and a distinct enquiry action share one first screen.
Service and place. The introduction names the architecture and interiors context and Kolkata. A visitor can identify the subject before exploring the portfolio.
Project imagery. One large courtyard image establishes the visual character. This is imagery within an independent concept, rather than a completed client project.
The next action. A contrasting button opens the enquiry prototype. The next step is visible beside the navigation instead of being buried at the bottom of the page.
This demonstrates interface choices; it does not establish traffic, enquiry or sales results.

A project, with context.

Actual desktop and mobile captures from the Studio Angan concept build. The fictional apartment study explains type, location and design focus before the project imagery.

Deliberate choices, not template defaults.
- 01
Varied project-card proportions to reflect the rhythm of architectural drawings and publications.
- 02
Made real interface captures the proof point instead of treating photography alone as the portfolio.
- 03
Kept interaction and typography restrained so the project imagery carries visual weight.
What the work demonstrates
A distinctive portfolio system that joins art direction, information architecture, responsive composition, and front-end craft.
INSPECT THE DECISION PATH
Can a visitor find what they need to decide?
Open the concept on your phone. Find the relevant service or project, check the context provided and follow the enquiry route. This demonstrates interface behavior, not measured customer results.
